SAFETY OFFICER

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

To assist the hospital in complying with current health and safety legislation and/or regulations with the objective of ensuring that all reasonable and proper measures are taken to protect the safety and health of all employees

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To establish budget proposals for the operation of the Occupational Health and Safety office and specific training programs
  2. To increase health and safety awareness at all levels within the hospital
  3. To investigate and report on all serious/critical personal injury accidents occurring to employees and/or visitors
  4. To assist in the investigation of all accidents/incidents that result in substantial damage to the hospital’s vehicles and proper
  5. To investigate and report on complaints of hazardous working conditions
  6. To respond to employees’ safety concerns
  7. To conduct, as necessary, the safety inspection of all hospital’s facilities
  8. To respond to fires and other emergencies of the hospital
  9. To receive reports from and respond to orders issued by Department of Labor inspectors
  10. To arrange for Occupational Health and Safety testing and/or evaluations of the workplace by external agencies/consultants as may be necessary
  11. To coordinate the training of personnel in areas of safety, including first aid, CPR, accident prevention and investigation, work place inspections and other matters related to implementing safety procedures of the hospital
  12. To coordinate the hospital’s emergency procedures and act as the hospital’s emergency on-site coordinator
  13. To develop, review, and update appropriate sections of the hospital’s Emergency Procedures Manual;
  14. To liaise with Calamba City’s emergency planners, update plans, organize exercises and evaluate procedures
  15. To liaise with the Calamba City’s fire department regarding emergency procedures, communications and fire safety education programs.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree on Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety), Nursing.
  • Preferably Junior Executive specializing in Engineering - Environmental/Health/Safety or equivalent.
  • Required certification(s): BOSH-BASIC OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH TRAINING.
  • Required language(s): ENGLISH, FILIPINO

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree, Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety), Nursing or equivalent.
  • Required language(s): ENGLISH, FILIPINO.
  • Required certification(s): BOSH-BASIC OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH TRAINING.
  • At least 1 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Applicants must be willing to work in Laguna.
  • Preferably Junior Executive specializing in Engineering - Environmental/Health/Safety or equivalent.
